United Launch Alliance (ULA) is harnessing the potential of space for humanity. United Launch Alliance is an American launch service provider that manufactures and operates a number of rocket vehicles capable of orbiting spacecraft. It was formed as a joint venture between Lockheed Martin Space Systems and Boeing Defense, Space & Security in December 2006.
ULA established its’ Headquarters in south Denver, Colorado. They needed to quickly transform 4 buildings (totaling nearly 450K square feet) into a functioning HQ. Technology Plus (TPI) was brought in to lead the technology design and ensure that ULA’s strict requirements and government regulations were met.
TPI was asked to “Fast-Track” “Building One” to help expedite the opening of the new HQ. Working closely with the General Contractor, TPI coordinated the planning & design of all the technology disciplines including structured cabling, security systems, video surveillance, SCIF (Secure Compartmented Information Facility) meeting rooms, Audio Visual and Sound Masking/Paging. TPIs’ early involvement maximized efficiency and minimized the need for changes, keeping the project on ULAs’ tight schedule and minimizing the cost of change orders. Additionally, TPI designed ULAs’ state of the art Launch Control Center and stayed on to support the bidding process and to provide construction administration & oversight.
