Denver Water

The Client

Denver Water proudly serves high-quality water and promotes its efficient use to 1.4 million people in the city of Denver and many surrounding suburbs. Established in 1918, the utility is a public agency funded by water rates and new tap fees, not taxes. It is Colorado's oldest and largest water utility.

The Business Challenge

Denver Water (DW) issued an RFP for the purpose of receiving a comprehensive evaluation of their telecom, LAN & WAN network and related components to build a 5-year strategic plan. Technology Plus was awarded the business and promptly went to work.

The Business Solution

Technology Plus (TPI) quickly met and aligned with the appointed team members from Denver Water. We were fully immersed in the current environment, once we fully understood their network and challenges, we developed & issued an RFI to get a handle on what the best options may be.

Working closely with the DW team, we reviewed the RFI responses and began to weigh and consider the options.  Examining each piece of their Network, TPI looked at wireless, wired, network security, network management, monitoring and alert systems for both IT (Information Technology) and OT (Operational Technology).

Building a plan, no less a 5-year strategy requires expertise on many levels.  TPI working with the DW team and utilizing our consultant status with DW’s preferred manufacturer, delivered a comprehensive 5-year plan. Leveraging their existing investments and ensuring that their future needs align with their manufacturers Roadmap, building towards a goal of Automation & Security.
