Raytheon is a technology and innovation leader specializing in defense, civil government & cybersecurity solutions. Founded in 1922, Raytheon provides state-of-the-art electronics, mission systems integration, C5I™ products and services, sensing, effects and mission support services. Raytheon had 2018 bookings at $32.2B and is headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts.
The Raytheon campus in Aurora Colorado faced a security challenge, its’ own campus. As a leader in Defense & Cyber-Security systems, Raytheon’s Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and Access Control System (ACS) had reached end of life. Adding to the problem, failures were happening all too often. Raytheon brought Technology Plus (TPI) in to help them quickly evaluate the systems and to document the requirements and our recommendations, getting Raytheon to the RFP stage as quickly as possible.
Technology Plus, understanding how critical security is to Raytheon, moved quickly to understand the current state and what the internal requirements for the next generation systems would need to be. Compatibility with other Raytheon locations and an IP based system that supported encryption were among the important new requirements. TPI developed a “Requirements and Recommendations” report & detailed drawings. To help Raytheon expedite the process, TPI developed high-level cost estimates so Raytheon could understand the budgetary requirements and quickly move towards the replacement of these critical systems.
